McArthurGlen rolled out the red carpet to welcome Crocs to its Rodbourne retail village on Friday morning.
The brand’s seventh UK store has hired a team of 20 staff and is discounting prices by a further 20 per cent over the opening weekend, as well as offering buy one and get another pair for 30 per cent off, and five free Jibbitz accessories for people who spend more than £55.
Store manager John Rush cut the ribbon with his colleagues and the shop soon filled up with customers.
The newest addition to Swindon’s McArthurGlen Designer Outlet is now open.

He said: “It’s really exciting to have the brand in the Swindon area and in this great Designer Outlet.
“There’s been such a positive reaction to us advertising that we were opening this store, and so many people wanted to work here.
“We’re already very busy, there’s such a buzz, it’s wonderful to see.”
The popular footwear has been stocked at shoe retailers for years, and the brand has recently started setting up dedicated stores which offer particular products that are not available anywhere else.
Excitement has been building in the run-up to opening day.
In April, a recruitment page for an assistant manager at Crocs appeared online, and the McArthurGlen site’s social media teased the arrival of the fashion brand earlier this month.
Signage for the store, which is next to tea specialists Whittards near the North Entrance, appeared at around the same time.
The space now features shelves full of colourful shoes, sandals, and accessories, with the company’s slogan ‘Come As You Are’ emblazoned on the back wall behind the till.

The popular American footwear company was first founded in 2001, intending to make shoes for boating, but now the popular rubber shoes with holes are used for multiple different situations.
A spokesperson for the brand said: “Crocs is a world leader in innovative casual footwear for men, women and children.
“Since its inception in 2002, Crocs has sold more than 350 million pairs of shoes in more than 90 countries around the world.
“Crocs invites you to join a global movement of all those who embrace their one-of-a-kind-ness.”
The former home of the Best Ever Brownie Company on the other side of Whittards remains empty, though a McArthurGlen hoarding over the entrance suggests that a new store is coming soon.
